Description:

Fabricated from white polypropylene, an extremely durable & non-corrosive thermoplastic; highly resistant to most acids, solvents & other liquids. The basic console fume hood requires a remote exhaust system. Unit consists of a white polypropylene structure with a sliding adjustable clear Polycarbonate sash, internal LED lighting, front control panel, a solid reinforced work surface with front lip and hinged doors for storage below the work surface. Units include front Airfoil, allowing air to flow smoothly into work chamber while sash is closed. Average face velocity = 80 fpm +/- 20 fpm (proper exhaust is required). UL 1805 Listed Hoods are available, ASHRAE 110 Tested, SEFA 8P- Base Cabinets. ASHRAE 110, Optional – UL1805.

Construction:

  • 1/2″ & 3/8″ white stress relieved polypropylene
  • Vented storage cabinet with leg levelers – SEFA tested
  • Heat welded support seams for additional strength.
  • Reinforced work surface for heavy loads includes ½” Poly supports at the perimeter of the work surface & every 12” on center
  • </*0.5″ static pressure drop across hood
  • Vented Base Cabinet including leg levelers
  • Rear exhaust plenum terminates at 10″ – 14″ dia. collar.
  • Counterbalanced Polycarbonate (Lexan with Margard) Vertical Sash or Manual Face Shield
  • Hoods are fabricated with all internal plumbing, electrical & instrumentation.

Standard Fume Hoods – includes manual face shield OR counterbalanced sash, spill containment and curved front air foil, LM Air offers a single wall unit (wider work surface) and a double wall unit with a utility chase on Right & Left side of hood. ASHRAE 110 independently tested; SEFA8P – Base Cabinets independently tested.

Perchloric Fume Hoods – similar to the standard fume hoods but includes a rear plenum wash down with Polypro piping and spray nozzles. Independently tested washdown by saturating the rear plenum with food coloring and then running the wash down to ensure full wash down coverage. Standard wash down includes a manual remote valve wash down at the front of the hood, more complex integrated unit are available. Flame retardant Polypropylene / PVC may be required – verify with your building dept.

Walkin Polypropylene / PVC Fume Hoods – are available in various sizes, typically include, sliding Horizontal sliding Lexan sashes.

UL1805 Classified Polypropylene Hoods – LM Air has 2 separate UL1805 Classified Fume Hoods:

  • Standard Polypropylene construction - FM4910 flame retardant liner- workchamber & rear plenum
  • Standard Polypropylene Fume Hood with a concealed sprinkler in the upper work chamber – flame retardant Polypropylene is not required

The UL 1805 classification is a 3rd party certification for lab fume hoods. A comprehensive standard encompassing performance & construction criteria; electrical & mechanical hazards, flammability & acid resistance & air flow / exhaust characteristics for personal protection, which equates to a “safe” hood.

UL 1805 is the first UL standard developed specifically for labeling fume hoods. Lab fume hoods are “UL 1805 Classified” - UL 61010 relates to the electrical component of the hood & does not include UL labeling; a hood cannot be “UL 61010 Classified”, only the electrical component is.

All factory testing shall be performed by a UL certified tester. Factory "UL Classified" fume hoods come with the UL 1805 label affixed. Factory labeling ensures proper fume hood performance & construction in compliance with UL 1805, eliminating delays associated with on-site field testing

Custom Fume Hoods – radioisotope Hoods, drying rack hoods, table top hoods, epoxy countertop hoods are also available.

Electrical & Power Requirements:

All electrical component are UL / NEC Compliant, Standard 115V, 15A, 1 Ph, 60 Hz, Junction box (sealed – weather tight) for hard wiring.

Lighting:

  • Recessed LED lighting – 5k. 125 ft. candle =/-20 ft. candles.
